OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

HOW TO ENTER: No purchase is necessary to enter or win the competition but entrants should be aware that they may be subject to local call charges depending on their own individual arrangements for internet access. To enter, you must click on the ‘Register’ function on the website www.peppermintcandy.co.uk and enter your details by 12pm on 1 July 2011. All entries must include entrant’s name, date of birth, home address, daytime telephone number, and email address.  

The competition will begin 21 June 2011 and the deadline for receipt of entry is 1 July 2011 at 12pm (GMT). The first and last name provided by entrants will be the identity of the entrant and, if selected for the prize, the identity of the winner/s. The use of a bogus name or email address will disqualify an entrant. There is a limit of one entry per person. Entrant’s e-mail address not be withheld. Duplicate entries will be void. By entering the competition, entrant consents to receive additional Universal Music promotional information. All entrants agree to abide by these rules. All entries become the property of Universal Music Operations Ltd.


ELIGIBILITY: This competition is open to any legal resident of the UK (excluding; residents of Ireland). All entrants and the person/s accompanying the winner/s must be at least 18 years of age to be valid and to be able to prove their age. Employees (and their immediate families or household members) of Universal Music Operations Ltd and its respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries and agents are not eligible to enter this competition. Universal Music Operations Ltd and its respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries and agents are not responsible for any lost, late illegible, incomplete, postage due, misdirected or mutilated mail, any electronic miscommunications or failures, technical hardware or software failures of any kind, lost or unavailable connections, or failed incomplete, garbled or delayed computer or mobile phone transmissions which may limit entrant’s ability to participate in the competition.


SELECTION: On 1 July 2011, two (2) first prize winners and three (3) runners up will be selected at random from all eligible entries received. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. All decisions of Universal Music Operations Ltd are final and binding on the entrants in all respects. The winner/s will be notified by telephone and/or email by a representative of Universal Music Operations Ltd within one (1) day of the closing date. Failure to respond immediately will be considered winner’s forfeiture of the prize and an alternate winner may be selected from the pool of eligible entries. Winner/s must be able to attend the event on the determined date or an alternative winner will be selected.

 

PRIZES:          

2 x First Prize Winners:
VIP entry tickets for two (2) people to the Peppermint Candy Album Launch Event at the Cobden Club, London to be held on 6 July 2011
Tea & cakes prior to the event
50s/swing-style makeover (hair and make-up only) prior to the event
Swing dancing demonstration by professional swing dancers prior to the event
Dinner at the event with the other VIPs
(Prize value approximately £350).

3 x Second Prize Winners:     
Entry tickets for two (2) people to the Peppermint Candy Launch Event at the Cobden Club, London to be held on 6 July 2011
(Prize value approximately £50).

The prize winner will be responsible for all incidental expenses including, but not limited to any food or beverages purchased independent of prize package, tipping and phone calls. All expenses not specifically mentioned as being included in the prize package are excluded and are the responsibility of the winner/s and the person accompanying the winner/s. Travel insurance is not included in this prize and shall be the responsibility of the winner and the person accompanying the winner/s. In the event that the event is cancelled or dates are changed for any reason beyond the control of Universal Music Operations Ltd, Universal Music Operations Ltd reserves the right to substitute a different entertainment event without penalty or liability. Entries and prizes are non-transferable. No part or parts of the prize may be substituted for other benefits, items or additions. The winner assumes all responsibility for taxes.

 

GENERAL CONDITIONS AND RELEASES: An entrant or winner may be disqualified from the competition if he or she fails to comply with these official rules, as determined in the sole discretion of Universal Music Operations Ltd. Unless prohibited by law, entry constitutes permission to use winners’ and person accompanying the winners names and likenesses in all media for publicity purposes without any further compensation. By entering or accepting a prize in the competition, entrants/winners agree to be bound by these Official Contest Rules and to conform to all laws and regulations.

By entering, participants, winners and persons accompanying the winners, agree to release and hold harmless Universal Music Operations Ltd, its parent, subsidiary and affiliated entities, directors, officers, employees, attorneys, agents and representatives from any damage, injury, death, loss, claim, action, demand or other liability that may arise from their acceptance and/or use of prize or their participation in this promotion, or from any misuse or malfunction of any prize awarded. Universal Music Operations Ltd is not responsible for 1) failed, returned or misdirected notifications based on inaccurate information provided by the winner on entry 2) entries, and responses to winner notifications which are lost, late, incomplete, illegible, unintelligible, misdirected, damaged or otherwise not received by the intended recipient in whole or in part or for computer, mobile phone or technical error of any kind. Universal Music Operations Ltd reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this competition should a virus, ‘bug’ or other cause beyond Universal Music Operations Ltd control corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the competition. Universal Music Operations Ltd reserves the right to modify the rules of the competition in any way or at any time. These Official Contest Rules and this competition shall be governed by English law and by entering the competition all entrants agree that all disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the High Courts of Justice.
